From the desk of Congress?
We have seen the end results of the way that Congress has chosen to go about pushing through their irresponsible health care bill, but we haven’t been allowed to see the decision-making process behind it.
What has this looked like so far? Has it involved listening to the people? Has Congress used clear research and bipartisan discussions to create reform that is good for all Americans? Or have they strung together a series of back-room deals, off-the-cuff decisions and gimmicks to cram through a bill that THEY want? Because of the secrecy around the process and the complete lack of transparency, it is impossible to tell. The end results lead one to believe that the process looked a lot like the notes below:
First they had to come up with a scheme to pay for it.
Then they had to come up with a scheme to cram it through Congress.
And now they have to figure out if it is worth doing it at all.
Isn’t this the wrong way to pass a bill that affects 1/6 of the American economy? Shouldn’t they have figured out the pros and cons first?
Tell Congress to START OVER. And this time, get the legislation right FIRST, then worry about the politics.
Act Now!
